Legislator Omini Empowers 750 Constituents With JAMB Application Forms
By Missang AKPET THE lawmaker, representing Yakurr Constituency 1 at the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Cyril Omini, has distributed JAMB application forms to 750 constituents. The initiative aims to ease the financial burden on families and encourage young scholars to pursue higher education. Omin, who is the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation Committee, said investing in education is key to building a brighter future, adding that he gives priority to his constituents for standing with him. Hon. Omini has also released the sum of ₦10m to cover travel expenses, logistics for applicants to their respective examination and thumbprinting centers across the state and beyond. He said: "Education remains one of the most powerful tools for transforming lives and communities. My goal is to ensure that every young person in my constituency has the opportunity to further their education and achieve their dreams without financial barriers," he said. Speaking at the event held at the Yakurr local government Guest House, Ugep, the Special Adviser to the Chairman of Yakurr LGA on Women Affairs, Mrs. Rita Oden, commended Hon. Omini for his unwavering commitment to educational development, noting that his generosity has positively impacted many young people. "I am personally very happy because this is not the first time he is doing this. It takes a large heart to give back to your people, and Hon. Cyril is doing it wonderfully well. "You can see the excitement on the faces of these young people, and many of them are even from outside his constituency. "Our honorable has a good intention for the upcoming ones. He wants them to grow, and we pray that God will give him the enablement to continue." A beneficiary, Miss Joy Edet, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying “this initiative has given me the chance to sit for JAMB without worrying about the cost. I sincerely appreciate Hon. Omini for his support and encouragement.”
