IWD: C'River Lawmaker Empowers Women With 15M Cash Grant

The member representing Yakurr 1 in the Cross River State House Of Assembly, Hon. Cyril Omini, has donated ₦15m cash grants to 150 women in his constituency in celebration of the International Women's Day.
Each of the women is to benefit a seed grant of ₦100,000 each.
Speaking during the presentation ceremony, Hon. Cyril Omini, explained that the 150 women were carefully selected and are all entrepreneurs who owned deserving businesses.
The lawmaker said the seed grant was aimed at empowering and supporting their entrepreneurial endeavors, maintaining that the initiative is not just a financial aid but a move to empower women-owned SMEs, support local businesses, foster economic development and also build a more resilient and vibrant community.
He lauded the strength, resilience, and entrepreneurial spirit of the Yakurr women while urging them to continue in the same spirit so as to create a future where every woman has the chance to thrive and succeed.
