Goodluck Jonathan 2027 Presidential Campaign Posters Surface in Kano Sparking Speculations

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s presidential posters for the 2027 elections surfaced across some major streets in Kano on Thursday.
The posters, which showcase a new political platform, Team New Nigeria (TNN), were seen at strategic locations across the city, including the Kano State Government House frontage, State Road walls, Audu Bako Secretariat, and the popular Dangi Bridge.
This have sparked speculations about the possible return of the former president to politics.
Team New Nigeria is a new political platform reportedly awaiting official registration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as a full-fledged political party.
The platform claims nationwide membership with a base of approximately 26 million registered members.
The development is similar to a situation in 2022 when supporters reportedly purchased nomination forms for Jonathan under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to participate in the party’s primaries ahead of the 2023 presidential election. Jonathan, who lost the 2015 election to APC’s Muhammadu Buhari, ultimately disassociated himself from the bid.
