Former Reps Deputy Speaker, Ihedioha, Dumps PDP, May Join APC
From Anayo ANYANWU (Owerri)
Former Deputy Speaker of House of Representatives and Governor of Imo State, Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha, has dumped The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ihedioha, who spent only seven months on the Imo governorship seat before he was removed from office by Supreme Court, stated this in a resignation letter sent to the party chairman on Tuesday 23, April 2024.
Speculation is rife that Ihedioha may be heading for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Sources close to Ihedioha's secretariat revealed that the former governor may have entered a tacit agreement with some top members of the ruling party in Abuja to defect if he wants to realise his governorship ambition after Governor Hope Uzodimma's tenure.
It is expected that in a few months ahead Ihedioha would announce the next party.
