Cross River governor, Sen. Bassey Otu has entreated Cross Rivererians to be steadfast and patriotic in the collective quest to preserve Nigeria's democracy.
The governor made plea, today, in his democracy day statewide broadcast in Calabar.
"Today we join other Nigerians to mark this important day in the democratic history of our country.
"Having come a long way as a country, we must do even more to preserve this democracy for posterity sake.
"Apart from being the fifth conservative democratic transfer of power from one administration to another since the beginning of the 4th republic, it also marks the beginning of a new and critical administration in our almost 23 years of unbroken democratic experience.
"I urge you, my dear people, not only to pray for the success of the new administration, but also to work and walk with us to our greatness," Gov Otu remarked.
He also called on Cross Rivererians to continue to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as well as the mandate they bestowed upon him and his deputy Rt. Hon. Peter Odey.
