By Kingsley Agim
The State Ministry of Health has inaugurated SERVICOM Desk Officers in the Southern part of the State in a bid to enhance personnel output in government-owned hospitals.
Inaugurating the Desk Officers, the Commissioner for Health, Dr Henry Egbe Ayuk, who was represented by the Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Dr Pauline Obute, charged the Officers to see themselves as ambassadors in Ministry's quest to recalibrate, reshape and reengineer the health development system.
The Commissioner tasked SERVICOM team to live up to their responsibility as positive change agents for the improvement of the various facilities, noting that it was a good initiative to have activated SERVICOM, beginning with the southern part of the State, adding that Desk Officers must be on their toes to achieve government expectations.
In his admonition, the Director of Administration, Elder Ajuk Nyam, posited that SERVICOM has been known for efficient service delivery, while calling on the chosen Desk Officers to live up to the terms of reference and assert themselves as the ‘eye of the facilities’ in which they represent.
Also speaking, Mr. Bassey Edet, Director SERVICOM, Ministry of Health, informed Desk Officers that their selection was a call of duty for good health care delivery, while enjoining them to give their best to the citizens as the Governors Agenda for the state is 'Peoples First.'
He said the crop of Desk Officers were carefully chosen to represent the Southern Senatorial District as ambassadors of their facilities, rendering service to humanity and also a contribution to the development of Cross River State.
