Cross River: Elvert emerges speaker 10th House of Assembly

Hon. Elvert Ayambem, repsenting Ikom II state constituency, has emerged the Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly.

Elvert was elected unopppsed on the floor of the House with Hon. Silvester Agabi, representing Obudu state constituency, as Deputy Speaker of the 10th Assembly.

Speaking on what he has for Cross Riverians shortly after his election, Hon. Elvert Ayambem, said: "I would be speaker for all Cross Riverian. The House would cooperate with the government of the day.

"I and the leadrership would stabilise the House and ensure the opposition members are carried along because they were alos elected like me. 

"I am only the first among equal. But in all the state shall expect a robust legislature where there would be a mutual respect and relationahip between the executive and Legislature.
