Ahead of 2027, political activities are gathering momentum as Cross River Central Senatorial chapter of The All Progressives Congress (APC) bigwigs are set to endorse Governor Bassey Otu for the second term.

The event holding at Ikom Stadium in Ikom local government area have attracted personages from the zone including the Minister of Industry, Sen. John Owan Enjoy, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof Anthony Owan Enoh, Speaker Elvert Ayambem, former Senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma Egba, House of Reps Members, House of Assembly members, Amb Sony Abang and Chief Chris Agara.

Other dignatraries are State APC Exco led by the party chairman, Barr Alphonsus Ogar Eba, Chairmen of the 6 local government areas that make up the central senatorial district, Councilors, commissioners, Special advisers and other political appointees from the central senatorial district.

THE BEAGLE NEWS team who went round Ikom observed a boom in economic and social activities as major food joints,  sit-outs, and hotels are witnessing a boost in sales just as hotels are fully booked.

Stakeholders have also mobilised their groups wearing various T-Shirts and Face caps with various inscriptions to add colour to the epoch-making event.

Some major streets are decorated with banners hailing Gov Otu and calling on him to continue his good works

The event slated for 10:00am is yet to start fully as at 2:00pm as bigwigs are still hosting their friends and associates while the organisers are putting finishing touches to ensure a hitch-free rally.

At the Stadium, various delegates and groups in colourful campaign shirts have started trooping in hundreds for the rally.

A member of the central planing committee for the rally told THE BEAGLE NEWS that after the endorsement rally, the stakeholders will move to Calabar for a dinner with Gov Otu where they will present a communique finally stamping the endorsment.
