C'River Secures Funding for Railway Project Connecting North and South

Cross River State has secured funding to construct a railway that will connect the Northern and Southern part of the state.

The state governor Senator Bassey Otu who made this known during the state executive council meeting on Friday said the rail project will connect Bakassi local government are in the southern part of the state to Obanliku and Obudu in the northern parts of the state.

According to the governor, the railway will not only ease movement within the state but will also enhance the movement of agricultural products from the rural areas where farming is predominant to the city.

"Cross River State is blessed with a lot of agricultural products and this rail will serve as a vital link for easy movement of our products, boosting trade and economic growth.

"In addition to the railway project, our administration is committed to revolutionizing the state's educational infrastructure as we will overhaul over 1000 schools across the state" Otu said.
