Childrens Day: Duke Calls on Stake Holders to Provide Enabling Environment For The Nigerian Child

As Nigeria commemorates Children's Day today May 27, the Commissioner representing Cross River State in the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC Rt. Hon. Orok Duke has urged stakeholders to prioritize the welfare and well-being of children while celebrating Children’s day.
In a statement released today, the NDDC commissioner emphasized the importance of creating an enabling environment that fosters the growth and development of young Nigerians.
"As we commemorate Children's Day, we pay tribute to the innocence, curiosity, and boundless potential of our young ones," the statement read. They are the future leaders, innovators, and change-makers of our great nation."
Duke highlighted the challenges faced by Nigerian children, including limited access to quality education and healthcare, poverty, and exploitation.
"As leaders, it is our responsibility to create an enabling environment that fosters their growth and development. Let us protect children from abuse, exploitation, and violence, and provide opportunities for skill development and empowerment," he emphasized.
He however expressed hope that their dreams and aspirations would be nurtured while enabling them to become the leaders needed to build a brighter future for the nation.
