Calabar Methodist Bishop Donates Educational Materials To Two Primary, Post Primary Schools

Otuekong Ukut, Ph.D has
donated educational materials
worth millions of Naira to two
primary and post primary
schoolsin Cross River state.

This is part of his
contribution towards
improving the standard of
education at the grassroots and
is in line with the corporate
social responsibilities of the
church.

The educational materials
donated include books and
several learning materials to
primary and post primary
school pupils and students of
Methodist Church school Ikot
Omin and secondary school
students of Susana Wesley
School 97 Atamunu Streets
Calabar, the Cross River State
capital.

Speaking at the
presentation ceremony Ikot

Otuekong Ukut enjoined the
beneficiaries to re-double
their their efforts in order to
graduate from their
institutions in flying colours.

He said: "I see great
potentials among you people.
Isee alot of you who are going
to grow up to become
engineers, lawyers, doctors,
and computer engineers. I see
civil and computers engineers
among you. see a future. I
charged you all to be serious
with your academic work.
Desist forth from telling lies,
obey your teachers and
parents. If you want your
dreams to be actualized.

"Tell your friends to
enroll in Susana Wesley
Schools. I charged you to be
hardworking so that you can
aspire to have 8 degrees just

like I have. Let me make it
clear to you that if you work
very hard, with good moral
behavior, and you
work to attain
higher educational
standards,all those
good things of life
which you so desire
are achievable
without.”

Response on
behalf of the two
benefiting schools,
the head teacher of
Methodist school Ikot
Omin, 8miles
Calabar, Miss. Emem
Johnson, expressed
happiness over the
educational materials
donated to students
and pupil of the
Institution by Bishop
Otuekong, praying
God to keep him alive, saying
"this is something
spectacular. We have seen this
before where the bishop
would take create time from
his very busy schedule to pay
us a visit, check on us with gift
items that tend to make our
job easy.

"We are indeed so
grateful and excited and proud
to be associated with this
clergyman. You are indeed a
caring father. For showing us
this token oflove and concern
to us, we pleadged to
reciprocate this kind gesture
by re-doubling our effort for
optimum result". He
maintained.

In his remarks, Synod
Secretary, Very Rev. Anthony
Essien, stated that with the
learning and teaching aides,
the sky would be their limits,
describing Otuekong as "a
scholar, philanthropist and
lover of development."
