C’ River Lawmaker Sponsors Bill for Prompt Payment of Pensions To LG Retirees

The member representing Boki 2 state constituency in the Cross River state House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Hillary Bisong had sponsored a bill  aimed at improving the welfare of retirees from the local government service in Cross River State.

The bill according to Honorable Bisong is aimed at guaranteeing retirees of the local government civil service of speedy payment of their gratuities and pensions.

According to him, “The proposed legislation will establish a dedicated team to manage and oversee the pension fund, ensuring that the distribution of funds is done efficiently, transparently, and responsibly. With this bill, our retirees will no longer have to endure the uncertainty or long waits for the benefits they rightfully deserve.

“As a representative of the people, I believe it is vital to honour those who have spent their careers serving our dear state,  it is only fitting that they are rewarded with the security and financial peace of mind they deserve in their retirement years.

I am confident that this initiative will go a long way in enhancing the lives of our senior citizens, ensuring they no longer live with the fear of their entitlements being delayed or forgotten” he said.

The lawmaker expressed his belief that the bill when passed will set an example for other states in the country while reiterating his support and commitment to the Governor Bassey Otu led administration and its drive to improve the lives of the people of Cross River State.
