BREAKING: Rivers Local Govt Secretariat Set Ablaze

Barely 48 hours after conducting local government elections and subsequent inauguration of the newly-elected council chairmen and councilors, the Eleme local government council Secretariat has been set ablaze.

The fire incident happened a few hours after police said they’re vacating the council areas since Fubara said he does not need their protection.

The newly-elected chairmen are expected to assume office today following their swearing in on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Eye-witness said many offices in the council area were seen going up in flames while a few passers-by were seen watching in awe as sensitive documents got burnt.
