BREAKING: Cross River Workers Boo SSG, Ajero over Moves To Migrate Them To PENCOM Scheme
By Our Reporter
The Cross River State workers have protested heavily over moves by Sen. Bassey Otu-led administration to migrate them to contributory Pension scheme, known as PENCOM.
The workers numbering hundreds, assembled at Transcorp Hotels on the early hours of Tuesday, and waited for the government functionaries and the NLC National President, Ajero, for the sensitisation meeting between workers and government on the need to accept the new pension scheme.
But a few a minutes after arrival, the shout of 'no-pension' rent the air, sending signals to government that their plans would not work.
And on sighting the SSG, Prof. Owan Eno, the workers booed him untill the security smuggled him out while Ajero refused to come down from his hotel room at Transcorp Hotels.
