Consistent with his determination to provide communities in the Central Senatorial District of Cross River State with basic social amenities, Senator Eteng Jonah Williams has picked Bendeghe-Ekiem Community in Etung, Ediba in Abi, Olulumo in Ikom, Ababene in Obubra, as well as Ijom, Asiga, Aduma and Afaben communities in Yakurr LGA as beneficiaries of the soon-to-commence solar-powered boreholes project.
Senator Williams said the projects are in fulfillment of his campaign promises, while informing that construction will begin in a few weeks from now.
The lawmaker highlighted that the initiative is a way of giving back to his constituents and addressing the critical need for reliable water sources.
"The implementation of solar-powered boreholes will ensure sustainable water supply, particularly in regions that suffer from water scarcity.
"We are committed to improving the quality of life of our people. This project represents a significant step towards fulfilling our promises and enhancing the infrastructure within these communities," Senator Williams stated.
The project, which will be flagged off in the coming weeks, is expected to not only provide clean water but also demonstrate the viability of renewable energy solutions in addressing local challenges.
The benefitting communities, it is believed, are eagerly awaiting the commencement of construction, anticipating the positive impact such a project will have on their people.
