Alleged Electrical Equipment Thief Arrested At UNICAL

The University of Calabar Surveillance Team has apprehended one John Ekanem, an alleged specialist in electrical armored cables theft. The university had hitherto been terrorized by vandals and criminals, whose activities have ripped the varsity of valuable equipment worth several millions of Naira.

Ekanem who was was arrested on wednesday morning confessed that he and his gang of four have been involved in vandalizing electrical cables around the staff quaters and selling same to scavengers.

THe BEAGLE NEWS gathered that while Ekanem was arrested, his other three (3) gang members fled unscathed.

As at the time of filing this report, effort to apprehend them has not yielded any result.
