Rotary Club of Hill-top Donates Educational Materials to St. Peter Primary School Oban

The Rotary Club of Hill-top Calabar has donated educational and instructional materials worth thousands of naira to St. Peter Primary School Oban located at Oban.

The colourful ceremony was held at Oban Oil Palm Estate in Akamkpa local government area of Cross River state and was attended by good number of Club members, who drove through the dust to the school. 

Speaking at the event, the club President, Rotarian Engr Nsed Akunjom, represented by Past Assistant Governor, Iniekong Essien, said Rotary Club of Hill-top Calabar was motivated to asist the staff and pupils because of the sorry state of the school and absolute lack of infrastructure. 

The project was carried out as part of the club's literacy promotion programmes with Rotarian Dr Nicholas Obun Dan - Club Past President as Project Committee Team Lead.

He appealed to government and other well spirited citizens to partner with Rotary to better the lives of our future leaders.

Reacting, the Managing Director of BJ Farms Oban, Mr Veejee, the Head Teacher of the school , staff and pupils applauded the kind gesture of the club and commended them for coming to the aid of the pupils as most of them never had writing materials.
