Federal Ministry of Works Launches Graduate Mechanical Engineers Mentorship Programme
The Federal Ministry of Works has announced the commencement of a nationwide Graduate Mechanical Engineer Opportunity under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Engineering Mentorship Programme.
The initiative is designed to provide unemployed Nigerian graduate engineers with hands-on experience, field mentorship, and practical exposure through participation in key infrastructure projects across the country.
According to the Ministry, the programme is open to Nigerian citizens between the ages of 18 and 35 who possess a degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering. Applicants must currently be unemployed and must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) or obtained an exemption certificate. Basic computer literacy is also required.
Successful candidates will benefit from on-site training and professional mentorship, monthly stipends, provision of safety gear, and certification upon completion of the programme. The Ministry noted that participants will also be given priority consideration for future employment and professional opportunities within the sector.
Interested applicants are required to submit their curriculum vitae, academic credentials, NYSC certificate or exemption letter, passport photograph, valid means of identification, and local government area certificate to registryfmw@fmw.gov.ng.
The deadline for applications is December 31, 2025.
The Ministry described the programme as part of ongoing efforts by the Tinubu administration to strengthen capacity building, reduce youth unemployment, and develop skilled manpower for Nigeria’s infrastructure development.
