A party stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Etung Local Government Area and Secretary of the State Cocoa Allocation Committee, Comrade Amba Ogar Ogar (Opinch), has declared his intention to run for the Obubra/Etung House of Representatives seat in the forthcoming general election.
Amba Ogar, who made his intention known to party faithful and supporters on Wednesday in Obubra, said his ambition is driven by the desire to serve his people and deliver the dividends of democracy.
He disclosed that he has judiciously served his community, local government, and the state in various capacities and expressed confidence that he will perform well as a legislator.

Amba cited constituency engagement and the push for recognition of a fourth tier of government involving traditional institutions as focal points if elected as a reps member.
Responding, the Obubra chapter chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Lucky Okpeche, said the aspirant’s track record of delivering in previous offices testifies he will do well if given this one, adding that he prays the APC leadership in Obubra/Etung will give them a clear and right direction to follow.

Inaugurating the chapter and ward structures, a former APC Vice Chairman (Central), Mr. Sunny Ndep, described Opinch as a round peg in a round hole, noting his capacity to deliver in previous offices. He debunked the notion that Obubra must do four tenures as Etung had done, arguing that while Etung was at the National Assembly, Obubra had Chief John Okpa as deputy governor, so it wasn’t empty.
