LG Elections: Group Drums Support For Otu's Aide, Darlington Edem, Says Young People Should Be Given Opportunity

A group, Odukpani Progressives Forum, has called on stakeholders in Odukpani local government area to give Mr. Darlington Edem, an opportunity to lead the council.

The group coordinator, Comrade Ekpenyong Okon Ekpenyong, and secretary, Asuquo Nyong, said time has come to give the youth a chance to lead at the grassroots, adding that most politicians were given opportunity to experience leadership.

The group said: "Darlington Edem is the Deputy Press Secretary to the Governor Bassey Otu and has the administrative and human resources experience. Zoning also favours him".

According to them, Edem has worked with several federal boards including Nigeria Extractive and Transparency Initiative (NEITI), Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) and recently the National Secretary General, Association of Niger Delta Host Community Leaders were he spearhead and fought for the establishment of the Oil and Gas Park in Onimankiong, Odukpani LGA.

Edem is an experienced journalist, having worked with notable media houses like Premium Times and The Cable.

He is a symbol of humility calm and very calculated.
