IHSAN National President Hails LASUTH Over Inauguration Of Advanced Professional Diploma In Hospital Administration & Management

The National President of the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria, Pst RoseMary Archibong, Esq, has hailed Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, (LASUTH) Ikeja for inaugurating the Institute of Advanced Professional Diploma In Hospital Administration And Management.

The Institute was inaugurated on Saturday, April 13, 2024 by the Chief Medical Director, Prof Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, of LASUTH.

Speaking, the IHSAN national President, Mrs Archibong, stated that the proactivity by the CMD in establishing this school demonstrates his acknowledgment that, the hospital administrator is not just a pool manager , but a professional manager of hospital human and material assets.

According to her, hospital administrator must be equipped with dynamic knowledge to assist the chief executives of health establishments in attracting viable investment opportunities to strengthen the IGR, sustain infrastructural facilities, ensure the appointment and retention of efficient and effective manpower.

She added that hospital administrator must be the strategic thread that joins the multidisciplinary population within the hospitals ,especially the teaching hospitals to maintain industrial peace and ensure optimal health care delivery. 

She further said the inauguration is in tandem with the commitment of Mr President vision that Nigerians should access affordable, accessible and stress less health services.

The first female President stated that, in order to achieve seasoned professionalism among hospital administrators, the Institute of Health Service Administrators of Nigeria organises quarterly National Workshops, with the upcoming workshop slated for Minna, Niger State. She pledged to collaborate with the school.

On his part, the Chief Medical Chief Medical Director, Prof Adetokunbo O. Fabamwo, of LASUTH, commended the President for performing the ceremony, declaring his intention to collaborate with the Institute of Health Service Administrators in the running of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital school.

Present at the occasion were the Lagos State Commissioner for Health( ably represented), the Chairman Civil Service Commission, Chairman Health Service Commission, Permanent Secretaries of Health, Establishment/Training, the Chief Medical Director, among other dignitaries.
