CNPP Commends Gov. Otu Over Smooth Take-off

The Cross River Chapter of the Conference of Nigerian Political Parties, CNPP has commended the State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu for the smooth take-off of his administration. 

Speaking to newsmen in Calabar after a stakeholders meeting of the body, the State Chairman, Mr. Patrick Ali expressed delight over the ongoing rehabilitation of deplorable road networks especially in the metropolis.

He disclosed that"I went round with my team and saw contractors on sites fixing potholes at Etta Agbor, Ekpoabasi, we saw a concrete road completed and already in use at a street in Calabar South. Our interactions with the contractors brought relief to us with the assurances that they'll expedite actions in fixing the numerous potholes littering the State ". 

The CNPP Chairman applauded the Governor for restoring street lights in Calabar and the drastic steps undertaken to beef up the security of lives and property which he noted demonstrates a zero-tolerance posture to insecurity in the state. 

He lauded Governor Otu for deliberate steps initiated along with security agencies in the state aimed at ensuring the rescue of the medical consultant who was recently abducted by daredevil kidnappers terrorizing the state.

 Ali commended the Governor for including Women and youths in his proposed executive and sued for all-inclusive governance to drive development, peace, and progress.

"CNPP is a conglomeration of all political parties and other associations who came all out to ensure victory for our Sweet Prince. Therefore, all shades of interest should be reflected in the composition of the government in furtherance of the spirit of equity and fairness necessary to guarantee the attainment of the electioneering promise, the Chairman emphasized.

In their separate responses, the South-South Zonal Chairman of CNPP Mr. Castro Ezama applauded Senator Otu over the appointment of Mr. Emmanuel Ironbar and Prof. Anthony Owan Enoh as his Chief of Staff and SSG respectively. He stated that the duo are sound minds whose track records speak volumes of their capacities.

He called on all stakeholders across party lines to support the present administration to enable it to achieve its set goals and fulfill campaign promises.

On his part, the immediate past CNPP Chairman, Mr. Sunday Michael lauded the Governor for his "people first" mantra stressing that he is optimistic that Governor Otu will surely deliver. 

Mr. Micheal called on the National Assembly members and the minister-designates recently nominated by President Tinubu from the State to team up with the Governor to move the State forward.

The group also congratulated National Assembly members from the state for the rare opportunity of heading sensitive committees, expressing the hopes that they will explore viable opportunities within their good offices to secure employment slots for our teeming youths.
