The Cross River State Chapter of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has welcomed the appointment of Arch Bishop Emmah Isong as the South South Vice President of the organisation, saying it's a very good choice.
Dr. Trinity Ogar, the state chairman of the organisation in an interview with newsmen in Calabar at the weekend, described Isong's appointment as square peg in a square hole.
According to him, "I'm very excited and commend the national president, His Eminence Bishop Dr. Wale Oke for deeming it fit to appoint someone from my state as South South Zonal Vice President in the person of Arch Bishop Emmah Isong.
"I'm excited that it's a very good choice because he's someone I've known for a very long time.
"When he was the state chairman of PFN, in Cross River State I was his public relations officer and from there served as Chairman of PFN and went on to serve as national publicity secretary for eight years.
"As national publicity secretary, not able the image maker of the national pentecostal he has been able to build a wide scope and mediate between the nation and the national and also between the national president and other chapters of the PFN in the country.
"He is a very proactive, intelligent administrator par excellence. Has the capacity to network the state, being in harmony and synergy between the state and the national", he said.
He also disclosed that Arch Bishop Emmah Isong has the wealth of experience and pedigree to handle the present assignment just as he is also happy this elevation comes at a time when he is the state chairman.
"Having office of the national vice president South South, and controlling six states is a piece of cake for him to handle with his wealth of experience.
"Above all, I'm excited that it's in my tenure as chairman of the PFN that we are producing a national vice president for our zone, particularly excited that the choice is not wrong at all.
"We at the State Advisory Council and the State Executive Committee indeed commend the National President for considering Cross River state for this appointment."
On his expectations from the new PFN Zonal Vice President, he said he expects him to lift the zone to an enviable level.
According to Ogar, "with the South South Zonal headquarters coming to Calabar and the coverage of our dear governor and his wife who are also Pentecostals and ministers of the gospel, we trust God that his dispensation will be successful."
